Lovely house, 23 Oct 2008
I bought this house for my daughter last december for her 2nd birthday and I don't think a day has gone by when she hasn't played in it. It is beautiful and hardwearing and she is deperate to have the kitchen and 'sofa' and often invites friends round for a 'cuppa tea and a slice of cake'.
A Lovely PlayHouse, 24 Aug 2008
I purchased the playhouse for my daughter, who has been enthralled with it from last year. Knowing that children sometimes beg for an expensive product then loose interest, caused me to be cautious before purchasing it.
I would say the quality of the product is very good. It has a metal frame and strong covering. The cooker which came with it, slots together. It does appear to be fairy sturdy, with careful play it should be fine. Though it would make me think twice before buying the other pieces of furniture as I presume they are made of the same material.
All in all I think it is a great product and has made two little girls (6 and 5) very happy.
It's a must have buy, 19 Aug 2008
Rose Petal Cottage is not just lovely to look at it is hardwearing, easy to manouvre and my 3 year old daughter and her friends play in it for hours, as do her two older brothers (5&7) although they would not admit to this! I have the accessories and disagree that they are not hardwearing - they are not cardboard but a type of plywood covered in a hard laminate and so far have been very durable - they are easy to assemble and have withstood lots of rough and tumble and a move from Germany to the UK. I intend to buy the shop and accessories for Christmas and hope I am as pleased with these products as I am with the Dream House ones.
Great fun for everyone, 05 Dec 2007
My 6 year old daughter was given this as a present, I thought it might have been a bit young for her but she has had great fun in it. It's been great to see her playing with her (rough and tumble) 3 year old brother-a great space for imaginative play where they seem to be in their own world. The house is well made and easy to store as one side neatly fits into the other. I would agree though that the accessories are expensive and not of great quality.
Poor quality of accessories and construction, 02 Dec 2007
Accessories seem to be made out of cardboard and are expensive, given the poor quality. I doubt this will stand up to much use and the house itself is a bit small for them to actually play inside. Lots of marketing but could be disappointing...

disappointing, 16 Nov 2008
The biggest problem with this is that the sections do not attach to each other, so by the time my daughter has run/crawled through one the other has separated, so really each part can only be used independently which isn't the main idea. She found it a lot of fun for a peek a boo game, but a sheet over a table or clothes horse would have done the same!
As the bits don't connect you end up with them separated everywhere, and as children don't consider what might be the other side of something they just hurl themselves at something that isn't where it should be and there could be a wall or radiator the other side. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that it is very flimsy, far flimsier than it looks in the pic, and so gets blown about by the slightest breeze if used outside, or knocked over by the lightest touch!
Daughter liked it as it showed her In the Night Garden friends, but in my opinion it is way overpriced, and it's best value is to play peek a boo in the separate bits, but I'd hoped for more use.
Dissapointing, 28 Oct 2008
We bought this for my youngest childs second birthday. I thought she would love it but she didn't and got bored with it after a few minutes. My biggest assumption was that the train connected together, but it doesn't. You just get four different pop up tents. It seems a bit pointless to be honest. And very overpriced. It has been put away and never asked for again. Huge waste of money.
Great fun, but not perfect, 19 May 2008
My 1 year old daughter was given this for her birthday last week and the one time we have had it up so far was a great success with both her and her 4 year old brother having lots of fun.
As I said though, it is not perfect. Firstly it is the standard 'pop-up' design where popping it up is fine but getting it back in the box is a nightmare for any parent! We have given up on collapsing the large red tent part of it. The photos on the instructions are next to useless. What this really needs is an instructional DVD.
Secondly there is no way to connect the four sections together. The means that they all move around and get disjointed as the children play in them. Just some connecting velcro or ties would have been a nice touch.

Hours of fun!, 10 Nov 2008
My daughter got this for her first birthday and loves it! She has great fun posting the balls through - especially pushing them back in the holes they have come out of and shutting the doors. She especially likes hiding inside the dome while playing with other toys and playing with the keys. She is not walking unaided yet but the dome is very sturdy and supports her as she walks around it holding on and when she pulls herself up and down. I like the fact that it keeps her and her baby friends entertained when they come to visit - a great toy.
Tomy Discovery Dome Deluxe , 07 Oct 2008
I bought this product to find part of it had been put on the material back to front. As it was for my sons birthday and he'd already opened it i didnt want to send the toy back so my dad did come over and was able to unscrew the parts and put them on correctly. My son often leans onto the dome or tries to pull himself up on it, which can make it fall apart although its not actualy broken it means im constantly putting it back together.

Fun, but not a pop-up, 02 Nov 2008
My daughter, predictably, loved playing in this tent. To that extent, it's a great product.
Be aware, though, that it does not just "pop-up" out of the bag. It has four vertical poles to give it rigidity, and they are a right fiddle to set up. Each pole slots into a pocket in the base and a pocket at the peak, tied in the middle with little ribbons. This means you either have to crawl into the tent to set it up, or teach your child to do so. If you have plenty of room, you can leave it set up, but if you're pushed for space, like us, you're in for hassle every time you want to pack it away or set it up.

Great toy, but with a big caveat, 11 Aug 2007
This is a fantastic toy, but the instructions provided on how to fold it up after use are sadly wanting. I'm scouring the internet for a demonstration video, but can't find one. I'm slowly getting more and more miserable. I might have to throw it away.

Much cheaper elsewhere, 03 Sep 2008
This playhouse is currently being sold at £279.99 + p&p, but you can buy the same one from Mothercare for £199 free P&P as well as many other online stores. It's a great product, but shop around.
