Not good, 31 Aug 2008
I wore this item to go swimming at a private members gym I go to regularly. After some complaints my membership was suspended.
Good to Wear if You're into Bad Taste Items and/or Have a Fun Sense of Humour, 21 Aug 2008
I donned my Mankini and strode onto the golden sands of South Shields(!!) Not too many Germans about, but it still got me a lot of attention - teenage girls couldn't stop giggling and quite a few shouted out 'Borat!' However, I wasn't bothered - I was sponsored to wear it and raised money for a good cause.
It's now been consigned to the 'Garments worn once, but never again' bin: but that's more a reflection of my innate shyness than any statement on the quality of this garment. Wearing it was a lot of fun, but you've got to have a lot of balls (it helps!) and/or a thick hide to do so, otherwise you could feel REALLY self conscious. I can see groups of lads on holiday all wearing one and having a good laugh with it - there's always safety in numbers!
As I only wore it once I can't really comment on the durability, but it supported me OK (and there's a lot to support - I wish!!), even though I get the feeling it may be prone to 'saggage'. Of course, it looks absolutely ridiculous - but that's the whole point.
Overall, recommended for those with a larger than life sense of humour.

If you like showing off, can live with a little chaffing, and want to practice your German this is the product for you!
The Mankini, 30 Jul 2008
Size is crucial with the Mankini and as the first one I received was definitely too long I had to exchange it. This was no problem and I was delighted when I received my very own perfectly fitting lime green Mankini. It caused a sensation on the beach at Saltcoats I can tell you. It is a big hit with the ladies. They never stopped staring at me all day. I had a wonderful time, and though it came off once while swimming I managed to get it back on without anyone noticing.
There was a problem later however as someone stole my clothes and as the sun went down it got damn cold. I had to hitch a lift back home. Bloody awkward. No one would stop. Crowds of people gathered outside pubs as I walked by shivering. Lots of shouting and course comments. Eventually a car did stop. It was the police. they wanted an 'explanation". Well I ended up spending the night in the cells. Otherwise a thoroughly good buy.

Chinese manufacture new models not up to previous standards, 01 Apr 2008
We bought one of these classic toys for our 7 year old. It was great for a couple of weeks until the vertical movement jammed. We sent off for a new one from the suppliers but it never arrived. Took three follow up phone calls and an extremely irate fax to get any response from the suppliers who finally supplied a new one nine months after the first one broke!
The quality of new models is not as good as the ones I remember when I was a kid. The plastic is not as strong and is more brittle. It can be cracked if dropped. The mechanism is not as good either. The knobs are more difficult to hold because they're smaller (not just because I'm older!) and are not as smooth in use.
As a toy it's still good fun but I felt let down by the poor construction quality and the lack of communication and response from the supplier. Nor did we get any recompense for the postage costs of returning the broken one.
I notice that these are now made in China and you can tell that they are built down to a price instead of up to a specification.

Wow what a great outfit, 13 Jul 2008
My Son had this for his Birthday, he wouldnt take it off, it is very authentic to the real sportacus and is comfortable for children to wear. I give this a massive thumbs up! Its also great as my Son emulates every aspect of Sportacus whilst wearing this and will only eat "sports candy" (fruit to us non Lazytowners)so its great to teach them about healthy eating too.

Misleading description, 30 Jun 2008
I am left feeling slightly disappointed after receiving this product. Amazon's description leaves a lot to be desired, firstly by stating that the paints come in 18ml pots when in actual fact you receive only 2ml of each colour. So for anyone else who is contemplating buying the product here is a decent description of what you will receive, if you know this in advance then you shouldn't be disappointed as overall it's still a fairly good buy.
1 plastic palette containing 8 x 2ml portions of face paint
Colours - Yellow, Purple, Pink, Red, Green, Blue, White & Black
1 x sponge
1 x small paint brush
1 x plastic lid for covering palette
1 x step-by-step face painting guide including 17 step-by-step guides to painting various faces (ranging from flowers & hearts to tigers & pirates, & also seasonal faces such as a witch & dracula for hallowe'en
This is ideal as a kit for our toddlers party, but would probably be quite insufficient if you want to use it on a number of occassions or indeed professionally. I would be far more inclined to buy individual 18ml pots as they provide a larger surface area to get your sponge in & come with individual lids to cover & keep the paint from drying out.
Hesitating? Don't . . . . ., 23 May 2008
When I was viewing this product I was deciding between this "well known" brand or to pick up a couple of cheap sets from a shop in town. I did decide on this set and have painted over 30 faces in the past two days. It is a fab starter kit with 6 basic colours in, a good brush and a good sponge which has allowed me as a novice with no previous experience paint faces with ease. It is a good set to buy and to built upon. I will now buy some glitter to add and a few more brushes.
Definatly go for it, it slicks on fabously and looks great. Good bold colours which look as good on the child as they look in the pot. Also really honestly will last forever. It says 50 faces on the box but I can only presume they mean 50 fun block coloured detailed faces. I think it's going to last me forever and I'm pleased with my choice. I feel it is great value for money.

Fun Enjoyable but poorly made, 22 Apr 2008
My 3 year son loves to vacuum / clean (I know ...) so he gets great enjoyment out of using this toy either while we are really cleaning or by himself. But the quality of the materials and the construction of this toy leave a lot to be desired. Safe to say - it is no Fisher-Price!
I expected this level of product based upon other reviews on similar Casdon 'Dyson' toys. This is a toy you buy for short-term fun - it will not take abuse.
toy dyson is a winner, 15 Feb 2008
I bought this for my 21 month boy who is obsessed with dragging and pushing things around the house. He loves it and despite still being small he manages to steer and 'operate' it with ease. The only problem I have is that my 4 1/2 yr. old loves it too and they constantly fight over it so I am considering buying another one. They play with it every day and as it really hoovers - what a bonus!!!!!! I highly recommmend this for anyone considering buying it for their child no matter how old or young....it's a winner.

Backseat driver, 31 Aug 2008
Bought this toy as it was the only back seat driving toy we could find, it is cheap and poorly asssembled, it is very difficult to get in the car in reach of my two year old as the car seat base is in the way. The keys and phone parts are constantly falling off, causing upset when Mummy and Daddy cant retrieve them while driving. However, my daughter does love playing with it and has provided entertainment and distraction for car journeys. If I had to purchase something again I would consider looking for something a little more robust first.
Great idea, poor execution, 30 Aug 2008
This is very cheap looking, made of flimsy plastic, poorly assembled, and definitely wont last long. At a retail price of £8.99 the seller must be making 1,000% profit. Yet my 2-yr old fell in love with it immediately, cant stop playing with it, and even provides entertainment for us as we watch him driving the car enthusiastically from the back seat. Despite its poor quality I'm glad I bought the product.
