The Best Sylvanian House by Miles 100%, 21 Sep 2008
This house is the best one to buy for Sylvanians. It is just the right size and has the dimensions and beauty of the traditional dream dollhouse.
It is much better than the open sided houses as it opens out at a right angle and there is an additional floor section you can place to make the final quarter square floor complete once it is opened. It has an impressive staircase that can fit in various locations and a wall that can swing to provide an internal or external wall.
Their are also other accessories you can buy to make this house even more impressive - an additional light for one of the bedrooms, a conservatory and even wallpaper are available.
The rooms are easy to access because of the design and it shuts up with plenty of storage space.
Highly recommended. A must buy for Sylvanian fans.
Willow Hall, 15 Oct 2006
Great house, working lights are brilliant! Solid and really well made, nice size-not too big but not too small either, can fit in lots of accessories and dolls.
Enchanting ... a Sylvanian's dream home!, 05 Nov 2005
This is a beautifully made, tough and durable house, which will give many years of pleasure to any child (or grown up, like me!). It is of hinged construction, which means it can be played with both open or closed, and opens up to reveal 5 rooms plus an additional open play area. There is also a first floor outdoor balcony area. Two of the rooms have independently switchable ceiling lights, which adds to the realism and makes a lovely night-time display! The stairs can be fitted in any number of positions, and the doors open and close. There is ample room inside for lots of Sylvanian furniture too. Overall this is a really quaint little house, and the build quality is outstanding.
dolls house, 27 Aug 2005
a family heirloom i think can be passed down to your grandchildren because it is very strong.

expensive but provide hours of play!, 16 Oct 2008
Yes this is expensive but if you have a sylvanian fan as a child then this item is a must as it will provide hours of play with the collection of figures that you are already likely to have! The working chandalier is great but ideally would be better if it came with more than one. You do need figures and furniture to fill the house but it is an excellent size and robust enough for my 5 year old!
I disagree with Paul, 20 Jul 2008
This toy is very good value for money as it supplies hours of fun. You can use it as many different things as my daughter has found out. The toy is very durable and although has been put through a lot of play with my daughter and her younger friends has not shown any signs of a crack. I found this toy excellent and my daughter has been encouraged to start up a collection of Sylvanians.
Agree and non-agree, 02 Feb 2008
My daughter is a large Sylvanian families collector. She has many figures, sets and accesories which she plays with constantly. She isn't very young but loves them anyway. She purchased Willow Hall last year as her first and only house and wants to get this one as a present or with her pocket money. If it as sturdy as Willow Hall it should be very strong, though in the images of course they are not going to put up a picture of the house empty or just with it's extra accesories because it is a very large building (I think the biggest a the moment in Sylvania ) it would take a lot of furniture,characters,pots,plants... to fill it up or make it look reasonable.
Grand hotel, 15 Jan 2008
I have to agree with Paul. This product is poor value for money. As Paul states the 'over 25' accessories are part of the basic hotel and in order to make it 'useable', you do need to spend hundreds of pounds on extra figures. The build is flimsey so I would not recommend it if you have younger children who may need a more robust structure to play with ease. That aside,my daughter really enjoys playing with, although we did have to invest in many more figures to make it useable. I believe that there must be much more value for money toys on the market.
Incredibly poor value for money, 28 Dec 2007
Over priced and disappointing is the best description for this product. The 'over 25 accessories' is a complete sham as with the exception of two figures the 'accessories' are part of the product, e.g roof fittings and plant pots. The £30 play mobil set we bought has seen a lot more playing and from a parents perspective it's much sturdier and far better value for money.
The pictures on the box and on the Amazon images can only be produced by buying a lot more accessories, the product when bought is not like the pictures, it's essentially an empty shell, that allows you to spend hundreds of pounds to get it to the standard shown in the pictures.
This product should be avoided.

So fun!, 31 Oct 2008
I got this for my cottage and i tried to fit it in the upstairs room
but the bunk bed was to big. Then i realised that you can make it into 2 single beds
which was so handy.
Then i took of i dresser and i thought it was fantastic and that
there could not be more cool things.
But eventually i found there were:
Duvets
Mattresses
Pillows
pictures
tiny books
tiny book holders
school timetable and more...
it was great and at 11 i love this.
There are so many things to do with it!
I definately recommend this item but there are so many small
pieces that i don't think a child under 4 would be very careful
with the pieces and they may swallow easily.
A DEFINATE BUY!
Brilliantly detailed!, 07 Nov 2007
I love all Sylvanian families things, and this toy is a great addition to my collection. There are so many little pieces, and I was amazed at the adorable detail of it all. Although the packs vary over time, most will include many little delights, such as; Bunk beds, teddies, a storage shelf, postcards, photos and posters, school books, bedding, a pencil pot with a ruler and pencil, school timetable and more. It is an adorable little set, which can be arranged in many ways, and will fit in even the small sylvanian families homes. It is really a toy for careful children, as the pieces can be easily lost/ broken/ swallowed etc. but me and my teenage friends all love playing with it, so who's to say you should grow out of toys?!

Rose cottage is really good i got for my eleventh birthday
and i really like it.
The rabbit that comes with it is really sweet and the stove that also comes with
it is really cute.
I would advise getting a family with it because playing with just the rabbit
is not that fun, the perfect starter house!
Sturdy little classic house, 08 Dec 2007
This little Sylvanian Families house, complete with girl rabbit, table and chairs and stove is a really sweet introduction to this series of toys. Unlike some of the other houses which don't come a figure or accessories, you could give this to a child who doesn't own any Sylvanians already. The door and windows open and although the play space inside the house is relatively small, my four year old has added a sofa, a toilet and a bed to her house. These toys are extremely sturdy and solid feeling. Nothing flimsy about this house, and I would say that it's good value for money and that it encourages lots of traditional imaginative play that is so good for children.
Sylvanian Rose Cottage, 30 Nov 2007
This is an excellent first house, introducing the Sylvanian Families Range to a 4 year old. My granddaughter absolutly loves it and, unlike so many toys, you can buy lots of 'extras', moving onto the larger houses and accessories as the child grows. She and I are happy to recommend this item to you.

Sylvainians are so ...cool!All my friends say,"Your so lucy I wish I could own 120 sylvains!"
Sylvainians are so adorable and they encourage kids(and adults!)
to use one's imaginative brains(and it gives one a break from couch patato activities such as play staitions ,X boxes etc!
By the way, even though sylvainians are advertised 4+ wait untill

This product should be avoided.
happy family, 05 Sep 2006
I love the hedgehog family. I remember I once had two sets of the hedgehog family, and I lost the parents to one of the sets so I created my family to have four hedgehog children instead of two.

I'm a bit too old for toys now, but I still love sylvanian families, and this family is just adorable, and great fun to play with! I'd recommend sylvanian families to all kids, but maybe not the more boisterous ones, who are likely to break or lose the toys.

Sylvanian Families Hedgehog Baby
My daughter was very disappointed that this order is for only one hedgehog baby, not two as in the picture. Admittedly it does specify this in the technical details, but I think it would be fairer to just have a picture of one hedgehog baby, not two. If we decide to buy another we have to pay more postage, and can't specify the gender of the baby, very disappointing.

Beautiful traditional toy for hours of fun!, 02 Oct 2006
My little girl had this for Christmas last year when she was four and she absolutely loves it. The caravan is made from a sturdy plastic, and is delightful, full of olde worlde charm. It comes with loads of tiny plastic accessories: plates, pans, tins of beans, table, chairs, hanging baskets, knives and forks, bucket, etc but these do all store within the caravan so you've got a fighting chance of keeping the whole thing together. The caravan has little beds in the roof, a cleverly designed toilet, and a working light (don't forget the batteries). You'll need a family to go with this of course.
These toys are not cheap, but they really are worth the money, and I'll be getting my soon to be five year old daughter something else from Sylvanian families for Christmas this year! I'm certain that these beautiful toys will be played with for a good few years!
very pleased with this, 17 Aug 2006
i was amazed when i saw this toy in the shop as i have never seen a gypsy caravan toy before! it is really good value for the price and i think it is lovely the way it has a toilet, table and chairs, beds, sink and cooker, pots and pans and cutlery. everything also stores away very neatly so you can put it away so the peices don't get lost. my suggestion is that you buy a family with it or it is impossible to play with unless you have a family already. however, it is a lovely toy and very well made, although there are a lot of small peices for younger children to loose so i would reccomend it for over 6 year olds
