Un-nameable Fun, 24 Mar 2008
Munchkin Cthullhu is a great game, one of the best in the Munchkin series in my opinion. Munchkin basically takes a light-hearted poke at role playing games and their players with many gaming and pop culture references, some terrible puns and great artwork by cartoonist John Kovalic.
In essence, you just have to be the first person to get their character up to level 10, but there are monsters to fight, curses to annoy you and your fellow gamers who will probably hinder your progress with glee.
If you're familiar with H.P Lovecraft's Mythos books, then you will love some of the cards in this deck, and probably groan at the twist in the text, The Elder Sign made me chuckle.
A great way to kill a bit of time with friends and a fantastic game to play with a bunch of power gamers as a bit of light relief between 'serious' gaming.

Arrrrr!, 30 Mar 2008
What can you say about a game which demands, yes demands, that certain actions are declared in a piratey voice. The sheer fun and joy that can be had from declaring 'Arrrrrr, I'll be tkin a pot shot at yer hull yer skurvy dog!" cannot be understimated (and this when played by a bunch of 30-40 yr olds!). Simple, elegant rules, easy to learn, loads of fun and plenty of replay value. Forget Capn Jack Sparrow, raise your own skull n cross'bones and become the greatest pirate ever to sail the seven seas, aharrrrr!
yes, I quite like this game!
Quick, fun-filled game, 30 Jan 2008
This game is fairly simple to pick up, with a simple series of rounds visiting different islands to improve your ship and gain fame. Definitely more fun with 4-5 players, as there are many more chances for battle and more luck.

It's you against the game, 08 May 2006
This really is a different kind of board game. The only game I can think of which has come close is Lord of the Rings, for in this game you form one of a group who have to collaborate together to beat the game itself, and rescue Camelot. To do so, you need to undertake quests, either singly or as a group and so earn white swords to place on the famed round table at Camelot - before the forces of evil place their own black swords. Add to this the fact that one of your party may be a traitor and you have a most challenging and entertaining evening's play, highly recommended for all those lovers of board games who enjoy the social aspects of playing the game as much as the competitive aspects!

A lesser monster made into a great figure, 25 Apr 2007
Given that the clockwork robots only featured in one episode of last year's series they initially seem like an odd choice for a 12" figure.
But this figure is fantastic and, like the new Doctor in Space Suit figure, wonderfully detailed.
In fact it probably edges the lot out in that respect - the clothing is incredibly intricate, as well as the head, but the best part is the fact that it is removable, revealing the clockwork underneath.
My only concern is that the neck joint doesn't feel brilliantly strong, and removing the head is not especially easy - I could see less careful hands snapping the neck joint in attempting to do so.
Otherwise, an excellent product!
