Product Description
What better way is there to introduce a child to learning? Baby Tad is an adorable, soft and cuddly frog who talks and sings and teaches shapes, colours and songs at the same time. He comes brightly coloured with flashing lights, friendly smiley face and a high, chirpy voice and sings six well-known and well-loved songs, including "Hickory Dickory Dock", "If You're Happy and You Know it Clap Your Hands", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Oh Where, Oh Where has my Little Dog Gone?", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep". Turn him on and he'll say "Hi I'm Baby Tad, Lets Sing" and begin his enthusiastic play. In "Daytime" play mode, babies can press the smiley shapes on his bib has six buttons for a response. Babies are encouraged to press the button which is lit, and are rewarded with enthusiastic greetings and songs. Baby Tad also says cute phrases that babies will love at random times, such as "Peekaboo, I see you" and "Lets Snuggle". Press, or kiss the pink lip button on his cheek and Baby Tad kisses back, saying "mmmwahh, I love you!" Possibly the most useful feature on the new and improved Baby Tad is the brand new "Night-time" phrase, a brilliant idea for babies who like familiar songs to go to sleep to. This mode is calming rather than interactive. Baby Tad can be programmed play up to six minutes of soothing classical music and lights, simply by pressing his hand, once, twice, and so on, up to six times for six minutes. He will announce "one minute to night night, two minutes to night night" etc: and the music then plays for the allotted time and stops without ceremony, a comforting series of tunes which will help lull little ones to sleep. While using the toy, children can develop perceptual and reasoning skills; motor skills are also enhanced as children physically push a flashing shape, song and "kiss" buttons. Playing with Baby Tad also provides opportunities for exploration, creativity and social development, all necessary ingredients for children's learning. The toy is accompanied by an excellent parents' guide and instruction manual which is straightforward and easy to follow, has a handy volume control on the battery box and comes complete with three AA batteries. This toy is recommended by the manufacturer for toddlers aged nine months and over. --Susan NaylorThe hug and learn Baby Tad will become a firm favourite with your child as they can play in the day and take to bed for cuddles at night. In daytime mode just press the sun on Tads hand to hear 6 familiar and fun songs to sing along to. Press the shapes on Tads tummy and hear him tell you the name and colour of it. The flashing shapes on Tad follow each tune. When its time for bed after a hard days play press the nighttime stars on Tads other hand and it will play up to 6 minutes of classical tunes from Mozart, Beethoven and more. You can choose from 1 to 6 minutes of musical play by simply pressing Tads hand the required number of times. Also for those extra cuddly times just press the lips on the side of Tads face and be greeted with a fun I Love You and a kiss

Lovely Baby Tag, 30 Nov 2008
My daughter loved this toy when she had it (age 2). I recently bought Baby Tad for my 1yr old nephew. It no longer has the American accent, which is a definite plus! Baby nephew sat in his high chair happily bashing at it and was delighted by the responses he was getting. Given the longevity this toy had for my little girl, I can see my little nephew having fun with this for a long time. ( if his Mummy and Daddy can cope with the chatter from it. ) For me the chatter is a small price to play for the fun they clearly have with it.
Incidentally, my daughter who is 7 ( with Down's ) desperately wanted to have this toy again. Even though it's years since she had it herself; and really enjoyed pressing the buttons. She was completely absorbed by it.
The jury is still out, 11 Nov 2008
I bought the bilingual (French/English) version of this toy 2 months ago and so far my 10 month old has not shown any interest. He will look at it for about 10 seconds and then move to something else right away. I am hoping that he will grow to love it when he is a bit older but right now I would not recommend it.

Baby Tad Rocks, 28 Oct 2007
This little Dude ROCKS. This was a present from my brother for my 18 month old daughter. The colours are bright and the music whilst annoying for parents is great for kids. The little button on the cheek makes a kissing sound which my daughter enjoys pressing again and again. All in all a great toy.

I have just purchased this for my 9 month old daughter. She is having a great time jumping around in it and loves the fact that she can stand and move without me having to hold her all the time (which is a big plus point for my back too!!). So far it is well worth the money and I'm really pleased that we got it.
Marvellous toy!, 03 Nov 2008
My brother bought one of these for my nephew who is at the time of writing five and a half months old. The little one loves it and though he still gets exhausted quite quickly (he's not yet sitting) will play in it as long as he can. It's ideal for the child who can't yet sit or walk but is desperate to do so.
I have to say it causes a fair amount of entertainment for the adults as well especially when baby's playing in it! The action of the feet when he's bouncing is very funny.
Fantastic fun, 25 Oct 2008
Like most people, I balked at the price of Jumperoo but I went ahead and bought it for my 6 month old because of all the positive reviews. We've only had it for 4 days, and my little one was in it for 5 minutes and he gave me the biggest smile ever, even though he had not worked out that he could jump in it at that stage. He discovered jumping on his second go and he gleefully jumps for ages and when he gets tired, he plays with all the toys. It's really enjoyable seeing him and it has also freed up some time for me. The only downside is the sheer size of it - it dominates the floor space in our very small living room and it's not easy to hide when it's not being used. Despite this, I am so glad that I bought it.
A very happy baby, 17 Oct 2008
I bought this for my six month old recently. It took her a couple of goes to get her confidence with it, but now she absolutely loves it. It has so many different stimulating areas on it, with a really easy swivel seat, which means she can access it all independently. We also have a dog, and the Jumperoo means there is no chance of her being knocked over while at his level.
The only down side is that it is quite heavy and difficult to move about, so you really need the space to set it up and leave it.
Great Buy-->Worth the Money, 14 Oct 2008
My wife bought this for our son a few weeks ago after hunting everywhere for it. He loves to bounce in it! In fact he likes to bounce in it so much that he has taken to bouncing in your lap when you hold him!
It was easy to put together (my wife put ours together) and the only fault I can find with it is that it is very bulky even when folded. Thankfully, we dont have a need to compact it as it gets far too much use. It is a pain when we do want to take it into another part of the house. That doesnt happen often though.
Another plus would be if it had one more height setting, as our boy is long in body and in legs and has nearly outgrown it already. He is not anywhere near walking yet, but hope to be able to get another month or two out of it before he outgrows it.
We will be storing this item for baby No.2!

great playtime in the bath, 17 Nov 2008
my 7 month old daughter is just getting into play in the bath, she can now sit unaided out of the bath and loves to play with toys in th bath. the toys are a little small, but ideal for her hands... just fun to see her enjoying bathtime even more. Well worth the buy
Disastrous design - but toddlers love it!, 30 Oct 2008
My toddler finds this toy hugely entertaining in the bath - but I can't for the life of me understand why!
Good Points - It's Teletubbies (need I say more?) and the figures are practically indestructible. The hat makes a lovely pouring jug and there's endless fun to be had dropping the figures into the centre of the island and watching them come out again - at least for a two-year old.
Bad Points - Floats (barely) with the flowers semi-submerged so the 'opening' effect is completely lost. It takes up a lot of space in and out of the bath. Teletubbies don't slide down the slide and the windmill comes out of its bracket very easily.
Verdict - Entertains most children but a lot to pay for four figures and a plastic hat, which are the bits that get most use. There are better things to spend your money on.
That Sinking Feeling..., 21 Oct 2008
The fact is that this Island does not stay above the water and lists to one side almost as soon as it hits the water.
The characters do not slide down the slide.
The flowers get water-logged straight away.
Basically I would say spend your money on something more stable!
It sinks in seconds!, 04 Sep 2008
If it wasn't for the fact my little girl loves the teletubby characters that come with this toy, I would have sent this back within 5 minutes of it being in the bath. It sinks almost immediately. This is unsurprising as there are two slit holes either side of the base which just let the water flood in. Crazy!
We also bought another bath toy at the same time which has no holes and of course doesn't sink! What a surprise!
Now this island is just in the way and annoys me everytime I see it!!
Doesn't do what it says on the tin...., 08 Jul 2008
My son likes holding and eating the teletubby figures. However, this is where the fun ends. The island sinks without much difficulty, the flowers do not move when you water the garden as stated and the middle is continually coming off without any help. As someone else added, the slide is a tad non slippy!
Save your money and buy another sturdier, cheaper model unless your child loves Teletubbies.

Will drive you nuts - but your kid will love it!!!, 18 Nov 2008
I cannot stand this book - my daughter loves it and it drives me nuts from the second she picks it up and it declares "it's nursery rhyme time". The woman's voice has an annoying accent and for some reason only sings half the song, the music and noises aren't as annoying but you have no way of controlling which you get. Fortunately my in-laws who bought it for her didn't supply extra batteries so when they run out we don't replace them for as long as possible - in fact we only replaced them the last time because we forgot how irritating it was! (it's OK for the in-laws they live 500 miles away!)
Your child will no doubt love it - if you are going to get it buy yourself some earplugs!
Great first book, 06 Nov 2008
My son has been playing with this since he was about four months. Now at seven months he has figured out how to turn the pages, which are chunky and have little tabs attached. Even from a young age he recognised the nursery rhymes from when I would sing them to him and already seems to have a favourite. Also it is easily wiped clean which is a bonus especially at mealtimes.
This is a noisy toy and can get annoying when you hear it over and over again but it keeps my son amused for long periods of time so I definitely recommend it.
Can't Sing, 27 Jul 2008
This VTech Nursery Rhyme Book compares poorly with the equivalent models from other manufacturers because
i) The singer can't sing.
ii) Only the first two lines of the nursey rhyme are sung.
Having said that, baby doesn't really notice and loves it anyway!
Buy the Fisher-Price Storybook Rhymes instead is my recommendation.
Excellent, 23 Jun 2008
I bought this when my daughter was ten months old. She is eighteen months now. She loves this book from the very first day and does not go to bed withut listening all the rhymes. Really good one for babies.
Nursery Rhyme Book, 02 Jun 2008
My friend really loved this for her baby. The baby seemed really entertained by it and enjoyed interacting with it.

Although after about 10 minutes or so every day using this you will wish you never purchased it (I know a song that will get on your nerves, get on your nerves, get on your nerves.....)your baby will love the animal sounds, the repetition and the flashing lights and this will encourage them to start babbling and gurgling......which is just delightful!
I LOVE YOU!, 16 Jan 2008
OUR 5 MONTH OLD SON WAS BOUGHT TAD FOR CHRISTMAS AND HE LOVES TO LAY AND WATCH THE SHAPES LIGHT UP WHEN HE IS GOING TO SLEEP AND THE SOOTHING MUSIC IS PLAYING HIS ELDER BROTHER AND SISTER ALSO SEEM TO ENJOY IT !
We love Baby Tad!, 30 Dec 2007
My brother bought my little 3 month old Baby Tad with a view it is a toy he can enjoy as he gets older, and although he can not press the buttons himself yet his eyes light up when we play with Baby Tad together. I am sure that we will get many more months/years of fun!
Love Love Love it !!, 09 Nov 2008
Great Buy-->Worth the Money, 14 Oct 2008
A Great Toy., 30 Nov 2008
This is the best toy we have found for our baby.
Great for around 12 months plus. The metal on the base is fine and secure.
Our baby always puts them in the right way up, its great. She is only 14 months and loves this toy.
Hours of fun for when they want to start to carry a few items in each hand.
Perfect little toy, 25 Nov 2008
My twins played with this when they were little and had hours of fun with it and it came in handy as a teething aid as well as a fun toy. My third child who has special need found it easy to hold and the colours eye catching and even her physiotherapist thought it was excellent for stimulation. Overall I think this is a fantastic toy and have just bought a new one for my friends little girl who is one.
A Fantastic simple toy, 26 Oct 2008
I bought this for my 11 month old nephew and think that it is a brilliant example of an old fashoined toy. This is the one toy which he comes back to time and time again, completely ignoring all the electronic toys. He quickly learned to put the pegs in the holes and not long after learnt to bounce them back out again.
I would highly recommend this to anyone, extremely enjoyable and also helps to develop fine motor skills.
A fab gift for one-year olds, 19 Oct 2008
The beauty is in the simplicity with this toy. My daughter was bought this when she turned one and was instantly captivated by it. SHe loved making the figures pop and it wasn't long before she was popping them, retrieving then, putting them back. It's pleasing on the eye too for adults. Beautifully crafted and no batteries required. It looks so simple but it keeps young children entertained again and again and again. My now 2.5 year old still gets pleasure in popping the figures and chooses whether to put them back in the right-coloured or the wrong-coloured hole. I buy this for all my friends when their babies turn one and every one comments on what a wonderful, durable toy it is.
not sure yet, 10 Mar 2008
i was enthusiastic about this toy based on the reviews, however I was disappointed when I received it. The pegs sit on a metal base to make them bounce and some of the metal seems to come off onto the bottom of the peg. That means i'm unhappy leaving the toy with my baby unless i'm watching as i don't want him to put the pegs in his mouth. That means that this toy isn't used as much as i'd hoped.

Great but can scratch fridge, 25 Oct 2008
I agree with all the above reviewers that this is fantastic. My two girls have enjoyed this over the last couple of years. However, when we got a new fridge with a brushed steel effect, we noticed that this left scratch marks when the kids moved it around the fridge doors (the kids slide it around). It was okay on our old white fridge though.
Useful learning tool, 16 Jun 2008
My daughters are 3 and know most of the letters of the alphabet but not all. They are showing a real interest in learning to read and so I thought this might be an easy way of helping them to learn the rest of the letters. Although the picture shows the letters as upper case, when it arrived it had the lower case letters, which was actually what I would have preferred (the product advertised with lower case couldn't be delivered to Germany). I think this toy will help them learn their letters but I have a couple of reservations: 1) it does both the name and sound of the letters, which I think is a bit confusing, especially as some letters have 2 sounds. 2) It is sometimes a bit difficult to make out the sound properly so that some sounds are similar. 3) For some letters the sound is different to the one that I have already taught them, for example for the letter L, the sound is 'ull', whereas I have taught them 'luh' (I would have thought both sounds appropriate for this letter) 4) the 'songs' are rather unimaginative. I thought there would be some examples of words beginning with each letter.
Altogether, not a bad toy to help them learn their letters in a fun way but I would recommend you get it before you have taught them anything yourself so that you can be consistent.
A must have!!, 05 Dec 2007
It has got to be one of the best buys and must haves for any 2 year olds my daughter loves it!! she has mastered changing the letters and even recognises a few shes only had it 3 weeks!! she loves the catchy tunes and is always dancing to it.
a very good buy, 18 Jun 2007
My daughter has enjoyed playing with this toy for the last six months - she is now 2 3/4.
She loves the toy & enjoys recognising the letters & playing with them (on their own as well as with the unit).
No miracles in reading, but she can see her own name, M for mama; D for dada and several of the other letters.
Something that takes as much repetition as learning the alphabet is strongly encouraged by a toy like this. She is now becoming interested in what words are & how to spell them.
As it sits quietly on the fridge, and is available to play with whenever we are in the kitchen, it is an educational "free lunch".
We got our unit with UPPER CASE letters. Check this out; there is an UPPER CASE expansion pack if you buy a unit with lower case letters. Ultimately, you will want both.
Just brilliant, 22 Jun 2006
I bought this when my daughter was 15 months old. I stuck it on to the fridge for her to play with due to the songs and colours, but had absolutely no expectations due to her age. How wrong was I? By 16 months she knew all the alphabet and their sounds. I didn't realise until I was sat reading with her one day and she started to point the letters out to me. To say I was amazed is an understatement. Definately recommend.

The little button on the cheek makes a kissing sound which my daughter enjoys pressing again and again. All in all a great toy.
Love Love Love it !!, 09 Nov 2008
Great Buy-->Worth the Money, 14 Oct 2008
Fabulous toy..., 13 Oct 2008
...but not if you live in a hard water area.
My daughter loved these after they were given as a present. However, despite trying really hard to get all of the water out after every use, and storing them so they could drain, they gradually turned black with limescale and mildew, and even squirted out little black bits. We've sadly had to throw them out as we simply could not get them clean.
Fun but don't let the water stay in them when not using!, 30 May 2008
OK like many of these bath toys they are good fun and can keep you playing in the bath with the kid(s) for ages.
But a note of caution!
When finished playing with them in the water make sure you empty out the water from these things.
As over time mould will build up inside of them and you see little dark spots inside. If the child puts them to their mouths and squirts of sucks from them like most will do then these mould spots will be swallowed.
They also will appear in the bath water as I have discovered.
Ok, but..., 11 Oct 2007
This is a reasonable toy, but no more. There aren't that many different things to do with it, and it fills up a lot of bath space for not much functionality. My son quickly got bored with it. Plus, be careful to squeeze all the water out of every baby octopus after every bath before you store it as mildew can build up inside them (ick). Frankly, my son is happier with a plastic funnel, a plastic water bottle and a cup in the bath.... But this was a present, and so here we are.
so cute! , 23 Jun 2007
My daughter loves these Octopals. They're very cute and she likes to line up all the little babies in a row so that their eyes are facing her. They can be stuck to almost any surface in the bath with their suction cups and when you squeeze them over the bath, each one makes a different squeaky sound. Best of all, they're very easy to squeeze and so they can be kept very clean. Some squeezy bath toys grow mold if you don't empty out the water every time, and some of them are difficult to squeeze. These little guys are very squeezy and so you can be sure 99% of the water is out when you clean up after bathtime.
