Play Nest is great but Gym is rubbish, 02 Jan 2009
The Play Nest is great now my son is nearly 4 months old and wanting to sit up. I can pop him in the nest in the kitchen and he will play happily while I cook. It is lovely and colourful with different textures to explore. He can't kick about like he can on his Tiny Love play Gym so he can get frustrated if he is feeling more active. The gym arches are rubbish. They are plastic tubes which don't lock together at all well and fall down if you can get them all the stay up at all. The gym is very bulky and doesn't fold easily like the Tiny Love ones, you have to deflate the ring and undo all the poles (since it took me ages to errect the poles, once they were down I decided to just use the Play Nest). The toys are sweet but they are bulky for little hands and my son prefers the chimes and rattles on his other playmat.
Bad design, falls down, 30 May 2008
I recently purchased the Galt playnest with gym and am extremely disappointed. I love the nest as it provides a soft comfortable support for my daughter, however the plastic pipes which form the framework for the gym are too rigid to create an arc and keep popping out which makes the gym collapse. My daughter (12 weeks) isn't even old enough to reach the toys so it's not as if it is recieving ANY pressure - it still collapses. I wish I'd read all the reviews before I bought and am shocked that Galt haven't rectified the problem given that clearly so many people have found the same issue. It's almost as if they designed it but never actually tried to put it together themselves.
Frame is Rubbish, 29 May 2008
The frame just falls apart. We have even tried to stick it with duct tape and it just fell apart again. The ring is good. Wish we had bought a different playgym as this one was not a cheap one. Very dissappointed. I think Galt should completely redesign the frame so it stays together.
Not impressed, 27 Feb 2008
Simply not impressed because:
1) if you don't have a pump, you have to look for one (gas stations are the best place)
2) the structure above kept on falling apart every time I put or take out my son
3) the nest felt flattened only after two days after pumping
Poor design, 26 Feb 2008
The idea of a baby nest is great and this is a reasonable one especially in relation to the base. Where it is let down is the design of the frame. It is cheap plastic that has tubes that are meant to slot into each other-8 in all. Problem is that the design is poor and they keep popping out and are a pain to get back together. Galt should look at a more sturdy design as this is a big let down and having known this I would have looked at other companies.

Intelligent product, 17 Aug 2008
I bought this product after visiting a friend who had one. I think it is fabulous! Firstly, it helped my baby sit up because of the shape and size (it fits neatly between her feet and she was able to lean on it when she needed to). Secondly, even though she doesn't pull on the handles herself yet, she loves it when I do to hear the music and see it light up. The fact that baby can learn primary and secondary colours in a variety of languages is wonderful. I am teaching her how to pull the handles and I repeat the colours when they are said to encourage language development. (The kaleidscope is the light and it changes colours depending on which handle or combination of handles is pressed.) The range of music is lovely too.
long winded , 08 Aug 2008
I was expecting this to be a proper kaleidscope with the added benefit of sound. But there is nothing kaleidscopic about this toy. You press a handle and hear either classical music or someone saying a colour in whatever language you choose and the blue bit at the top lights up. The kaleidscope is a piece of glittery paper on the base. Although the sound quality is really good, the music is far too long. In my view it isn't that much fun. My four month old voted no and so did I.

Why buy this? (we loved it), 27 Mar 2007
Why buy it:
I bought this for my baby when she was 4 months and was wanting to be held all the time to look at everything going on around her. She was to small to sit by herself then. I bought this so she could prop herself up with the edge and help her to learn to sit which it did (she was sitting within a few weeks). She loved it and it gave me a break. It's good value as it lasts them as a play thing until they can walk.
Design:
The pastel colours are a plesent change from other more gaish coloured rings, they are bright enough to attract baby and seem to help her relax. The toys do hang quite high above thier heads but you can lower them a bit and they have been great as she got older encouraging her to reach out and try to move towards them pushing herself around the ring. There are also games on the edge for them to enjoy. If the overhead toys are to high for your baby at first I found that my baby was happy propped up inside watching the world with a toy in her hands to chew on.
Size:
It doesn't take up to much space on the floor unlike some other larger rings. You could let it down and store it compactly if youwished but you tend not to because it takes effort to blow up again. It is also useful as makeshift storage for everyday play toys (the ones that are never put away).
I would recommend this product to anyone as me and my child loved it

Great gift idea and practical!, 04 Jul 2007
I love this cart safari shopping trolley cover! Not only is bright, colourful and fun, its one of a kind! It turns shopping into playtime for my daughter; she feels like a princess in her special trolley seat cover, and it means she is far more comfortable than sitting on the hard plastic seat and I don't have to worry about dirty trolleys. Her being happy takes the stress out of supermarket shopping! Its quick and easy to attach and this idea of Microban antibacterial protection is great too. All in all, I think its a breakthrough idea, and makes the perfect gift as something fun, useful and unique!

Surf's Up, 01 Sep 2008
I really like this product. Research has shown that Tummy time play is important for healthy infant development, but there are not many reasonably priced products out there with a proper focus on tummy time activity. The surfboard design is really cool and the mat is padded enough and comparable to most play mats in this price bracket. The prop-up cushion offers comfortable support and encourages baby to push up, exercising little arm & neck muscles. The water filled pat mat and attached toys add interest and help keep baby occupied. For the money, I think this is a great toy.
Dissappointing, 13 Apr 2008
Was very dissappointed with this item. On photos looks really nice but in fact it is an ordinary toy. My son never got to like it.
Toys attached are boring and the water changing system is difficult.
It is definitely not worth £20.
Not worth the cash, 18 Mar 2008
Quite cheap looking. From the photos you would expect the mat to be quilted, but it's very thin. You have to fill and empty the water reservoir each day. The 2 detachable toys are not particularly nice either. If just a little more money had been spent on production this would be a really nice toy. There's not much else on the market ike it unless you want to spend £30 on just the a widgey or boppy cushion. I would have sent it back but my son was sick on it when trying it out!!

Condones violence by women, 19 Mar 2008
Superdrug have recently been taken to court and ordered to withdraw a product like this as it condones violence against men. Amazon should follow suit. As for the category 'Toys and games' - since when was domestic violence in this category?
