Product Description
Thomas chugs forwards or in a circle as he blows bubbles, plays his theme tune and makes real engine sounds! Musical Bubble Thomas can also be used as a push-along toy.

Brilliant but Destructable, 02 Jan 2008
I bought this for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas and he is a massive fan of Thomas as well as bubbles (which kid isn't!?).
This toy doesn't move along very well on carpet and I read in another review that on wooden flooring it can get slippery so they could both be a problem perhaps, there is a little switch to stop it from moving around which is good. I also wish there was a switch to turn the music off because it can get annoying after a while.
However my major concern is that after a week and a half the toy is already broken. The minimum age for this toy is 18 months and children of that age tend to play with their toys abit roughly - perhaps this could have been taken into consideration being such a delicate toy. My nephew kept picking it up and the problem with that is that if it is tilted (even slightly) then it will begin to leak. As well as this the plastic thing that goes round inside to make the bubbles has broken
Other then that it is good...
...perhaps the creators of this shouldn't have the minimum age of this toy at 18 months because children of that age like sticking their fingers down the pipe and playing with it differently then intended.
However I do applaud the creators the innovation and idea of this toy is ingenious...
Good fun!, 31 Dec 2007
This toy is great fun to watch, and a very pleasing amount of bubbles are produced. The music is a little loud, but the kids love it!
The only problem I can see is, with hard flooring it can get very wet quite quickly with the bubbles landing on it and it is liable to get very slippery. I can see this being quite dangerous when there are excitable little people around!
So overall - this is a fun toy - but do be careful!
Love the bubbles!, 05 Nov 2007
Our son is a big thomas fan and loves bubbles too so this was the obvious choice! Bought it for part of his birthday present but the bubble solution ran out quite quickly which was disappointing, and we dont know where to buy more! Still works without it though, just not as fun without the bubbles. He loves it and so do we, wish the music had an on/off though!
Lots of bubble fun, 10 Aug 2007
We first saw this as a centre piece at a kids birthday party and had to get one for home. Pour the bubble mixture into Thomas and watch as the bubbles come streaming out of his funnel as he moves around the floor. We've found that the handy switch on the back of Thomas that stops him from moving is the best feature, as you can place it around the home and sit back and watch the bubbles fill the room.
It could have done with a bit more bubble mixture in the pack but to be fair you can pick up bottles of bubbles for less than a pound at the supermarket.

Product Description
Toby is old-fashioned, both in looks and outlook. Every engine, no matter how old, wants to be Really Useful and having once nearly been scrapped, Toby is always happy to work. He's not above being temperamental sometimes, but since he works mainly up an outlying quarry line, he can work off his moods without causing grief to anyone except his own faithful coach Henrietta. Take Toby on a trip around the track! A wonderful way to encourage roleplay and a great addition to your Take Along Thomas & Friends collection!

For some reason one of our sons favourites is Toby. This is a great piece and i notice he plays with it a lot. Pity there is no windmill to go with one of the Toby stories (yes i know, like you no doubt...i too am forced to watch them). There is one thing to be aware. this is one of the heavier take along pieces, so if you child is prone to the odd mood to rocket launch toys, you would be advised to steer clear of this, its about double the weight of a normal take along train. the colouring, painting and moulding is spot on on realism.
Lovely little trains for taking on your travels!, 24 Jul 2008
My son has a large collection of the take along Thomas range. These little trains are perfect for taking out and about - they're a lovely size. Ours have lasted quite well considering the heavy play they get from 4 young kids. OK, so they may have a few little chips in them now, but nothing that would take any fun out of them - they just look more authentic!!! And they don't chip nearly as easily as the wooden range.
I would highly recommend these to anyone with Thomas mad kids!

Product Description
James is a medium-sized engine. His six driving wheels are not as big as Gordon's and not as small as Thomas'. He has a fine scarlet coat and brass dome and likes to think of himself as a Really Splendid Engine. This can occasionally lead to high-falutin' ideas about the sort of work suitable for such a noble creature: invariably they land James into trouble. Take James out on an important journey! A wonderful way to encourage roleplay and a great addition to your Take Along Thomas & Friends collection!

Great fun but not compatible with Brio, 18 Nov 2005
I bought Thomas, James, Annie, Clarabel and a Troublesome Truck for my 3 year old Nephew. He is having great fun with them even though they are not compatible with his Brio track. The Amazon website does not explain this. Only one side runs in the track, the other side runs over the 'sleepers' if there were any. He still finds it great fun but I wonder what will happen when he is older and realises the problem. We will probably buy some Learning Curve track for Christmas so that he can run Thomas and friends on their own track, going under bridges on the Brio. He can pretend its the island of Sodor.

Great fun toy, 06 Sep 2008

It could have done with a bit more bubble mixture in the pack but to be fair you can pick up bottles of bubbles for less than a pound at the supermarket.
toby: excllent piece, 20 Aug 2008
CHOO CHOO, 10 Sep 2008
A GREAT ADDITION TO THE TAKE ALONG THOMAS RANGE OF TOYS. PLUS ITS MY NAME TOO.
Added fun for the take along range, 02 Nov 2008
My son has the take along engine sheds and this extra track is a must to add onto this. Very easy for my two year old to put together and very durable. Comes with adapters so that it can fit the more up to date version of the track that some of the take along sets now come with.
Excellence in a little box!, 14 Oct 2008
Take Along Thomas & Friends - Curved & Straight Track PackI was delighted when I received this little track box this morning! My grndson will be over the moon!Cheaper than e-bay,quicker delivery than Thomas himself could offer - and an obviously caring toyshop (Toyopia.co.)Thomas addicts really NEED this expansion pack for a special Xmas!!!Thank-you Amazon!
GOING OFF TRACK?, 10 Sep 2008
WE WERE AFTER THIS FOR AGES AND NOW OUR SON CANT STOP PLAYING WITH IT. A MUST TO ADD ONTO THE THOMAS ENGINE SHED AND TUNNEL.
Track for the metal trains, 12 Mar 2008
This is compatible with the take along thomas range of trains and playsets as it comes with adapter pieces which fit the larger track parts on some of the playsets.
I have the Sodor Mine and engine shed, using the adapters it all works well together.

Fantastic 'take along toy', 14 Mar 2008
I cannot rate these little trains high enough!! They are beautifully made and easy to fit together as they now have magnets on. They are durable and withstand plenty of throwing about by my two year old. He also has a wooden thomas track but much prefers his take-along-trains which he does always make sure he has at least one with on his travels!! I feel the toy helps hugely with his imaginative play he also knew all the trains names before his 2nd Birthday. He is slightly obsessed!!! Fab toy recommend to any little boy or girl who loves cars and trains. Well worth the money as will last for years to come.

Train anorak in the making, 01 Oct 2005
Our son got his first Take along Thomas engine (I think it was Percy, Thomas came later) when he was about 18 months old. This started the big Thomas craze in our house. Our son is now 2 1/2 and he has only a few left to collect. I've given this toy (the whole range) a 5 star rating for educational value as it is amazing how much our son has learned from collecting and playing. He knows the names of all the engines, can tell them apart where my partner and I can't, has started recognising names in print even with no pictures next to it for clues etc. He plays with them for hours something he doesn't do with any of his other toys. Unfortunately, they do chip easily - but then again they have a lot of crashes to withstand ;).

Warning - not compatible with older Take along Thomas sets, 29 Nov 2006
Please note, this comes with a new style track that is not compatible with the older (2005) Take along Thomas sets like the engine shed. These newer style track packs come with adapters to allow them to be joined but only 2 per pack. This means both bridges have to be linked and you cannot use the trestles unless you have extra track in the new style.
