Top gear top trumps, 05 Dec 2007
I saw this item on Amazon and instantly jumped up with joy.
I've just ordered them and I cannot wait till I get them. I'm a huge fan of top trumps games as they are enjoyable and can be played with the whole family. I especially love motor top trumps.
This item would be a must have for all top gear fanatics like myself.
Un beatable combination, 30 Nov 2007
Not just Top Trumps but Top Gear as well - this is an ideal stocking filler or easy to carry amusement for a train / plane trip that will appeal instantly to fans of the TV show but is still fine for all to play
Fantastic Gift, 27 Nov 2007
A must for Top Gear fans....the nutter who reviewed and gave 1 star is quite simply clueless and has no idea what top trumps are all about...
WAKE UP CATMANDOO!!!!, 26 Nov 2007
I read the review from Catmandoo and to say I was not happy was a under statement. I do not believe that anybody who is walking today has not played or heard of Top Trumps. This game has been around for donkeys years why write a review and slag the product off when you apparantly know nothing about it. If you haven't played or heard of Top Trumps just ask any kids that live down your street they will put you right.
Why write a review when you don't know what you're writing it for?, 21 Nov 2007
I have to leap to the defence of Top Trumps after the reviewer who gave it 1 star has had their say. They have obviously got no idea what the game is all about and I consider it most unhelpful of them to then give the game a 1 star review. Top Trumps has largely been responsible for teaching my reluctant reader son how to read, and I'm sure there are many other children out there who are now engaging in reading thanks to these cards. The knowledge they impart about the topic they are covering is an added bonus too. My son (5) has enjoyed playing with his friends, dad (40) and grandpa (70), so I would also add that it's a game for all ages.
For those who aren't familiar with the game, split the pack between you and a friend(s), play the cards in order, choose your category and try and beat your oponents with your score. If you win take their card, if you lose you have to hand yours over until someone has won them all. Simple and fun.

Great Airport Fun!, 27 Nov 2008
This is fine, fun game thats small and portable and is BRILLIANT to stick into your hand luggage for playing at the airport!
Pretty simple to pick up (I'd suggest a couple of trial games will be enough to get you going) and great fun to play in groups of pretty much any age.
And for under a fiver, you really have nothing to lose. Enjoy!
Fun, easy to pick up, 13 Nov 2008
This was very easy to learn, although we did have to refer to the instructions a few times during the first few games as we were unsure about how to play the action cards.
It is quite an addictive games, especially as just as you think you are about to win, along comes a "pick up 4 cards" card...but fun rather than frustrating as it did not go on and on as some games like this can. I would recommend this for any journey or family afternoon together as I am sure my 7 and 4 year old could play with help.
Excellent game for all the family, 24 Oct 2008
Amazing that this game has been around in the States for some time but I hadn't seen it in the UK until Amazon Vine introduced it to me. Not sure how as I have four children between 21 and 6!
It's easy to see why the game is so popular. The rules are simple, the game play is always different and there's an element of skill involved.
The deck is made up of 4 different coloured suits, each suit has the numbers 0-9 and "trump cards". One of the trump cards will reverse the order of play, another will prevent the next person from their turn, and another will also stop the next person from playing as well as forcing them to pick up two additional cards. There are two types of wild cards, one which simply represents any colour whereas the second forces the next player to lose their turn as well as picking up 4 cards. These cards also represent any colour.
Uno is a great game! As Uno games don't normally last very long it is great as those with short attention spans won't opt out. I would recommend Uno to anyone who likes a good game of cards that involves all the family.
a simple yet good fun game, 21 Jul 2008
My son really like this game and i enjoy playing it with him. He is 9 years old but i guess you could play this with a younger child if you wanted.
What is particularly good is the portability of this game - it can be played virtually anywhere. This makes it particularly good for journeys.
FUN - ENTERTAINING - CHEAP - AMUSING , 06 Jul 2008
The game is so simple yet so much fun straight out of the packet, if you like fun simple card games with standard decks of cards then this is right up your alley! The action cards are what make this game so fun to play, just when your opponent is going to get rid of their last card you may be able to pull a fast one with an action card before they get there go...
This is also great to teach the kids about numbers and colours from an early age. This will definitely make your little ones competitive too. You can play with 2 people but the more the merrier.
The simple games are always the most fun. Give it a go and see how much fun shouting UNO actually is.

We got this as a present and all the family love it. Its great fun playing in teams or solo. Its also very protable for holidays.
Bananagram by candle light., 29 Sep 2008
I bought this on the strength of its reviews to take on holiday. My husband, who hates playing games, felt compelled to offer our daughter assistance when she played with me and was hooked. All 4 of us played many times during the holiday and it saved the day when we had a power cut. You can't read by candle light but you can still play Bananagram! A fantastic idea and the letter tiles are very pleasing to handle. An all round winner.
great for rainy camping days, 09 Aug 2008
The best fun we have had in years. Simple instructions. Great family game. Words can be as long or as short as you want. Children enjoy playing. We played in three teams of two as a variation of the game and it worked well.
Great game! , 13 Apr 2008
This game is so addictive! Great for all the family- I started making words with 3 letters, now I can get up to 5 or 6 :)
Great game - but you could just use your scrabble tiles, 04 Apr 2008
This game is so simple to play that our family picked it up within minutes. Much more enjoyable than scrabble when more than 2 people are playing, because everyone is involved all the time. However, it really is just scrabble tiles with no board and different rules.

Another classic Top Trumps pack, 20 Nov 2008
My daughter loves Top Trumps and is mad about horses. Obviously, this colours my review!
The photos of all the horse breeds are good quality and nicely down with both a mini pic of the whole horse and the large picture mainly of the head. The categories are interesting and pretty accurate although a little subjective in places! The category regarding the horse's relative beauty has caused some fierce debate in our house.. The addition of a unicorn and a pegasus also proved a little contraversial and became coveted cards for our 5 yr old (who wants to be a unicorn when she grows up...)
So, while the horses and stats are a little light hearted, it is a lot of fun and will be popular with all horse loving kids out there. I would imagine it would also appeal to horse loving teenagers too.
Great present for school friends or as a stocking filler.

Product Description
This is another edition of the world-famous popular word game for two to four players. The object of the game is to compete for the highest score by forming interlocking words in cross-word fashion on the Scrabble board using tiles displaying letters with various score values. Higher scores can be obtained by using the tiles in locations and combinations that make most use of the letter values and premium squares (eg: triple letter score, double word score, etc.) on the board. The manufacturers recommend that the game is suitable for people age 10 years upwards, which is more or less accurate though slightly younger children could play, especially if there is some measure of supervision. Contents: there is a moulded plastic travel case, 23x12x5 cm, which features a built-in playing board with a non-slip surface uniquely designed to hold the special tiles which fit securely on the board. There is no need for paper and pencil to score as there is an integral scoring device on the edge of the board for each player. All the contents can be safely and tidily stored away inside the moulded case. There are four storage racks which are specially designed to hold tiles in place during the playing of the game and which keep them hidden when they are packed away if play has to be interrupted. There are 100 tiles of various values, a cloth bag to hold the tiles and a rules leaflet which is explicit and easy to follow. This is an excellent, compact version of Scrabble which should give hours of pleasure when on the move. --Susan Naylor

Fun and addictive, 03 Oct 2008

Good Superstars in top trumps. Not all of them but still good ones Better than the first one
Almost perfect - but not quite!, 08 Dec 2007
I was looking for a replacement for my travel magnetic scrabble as the letters on that tend to fall off as the glue holding the letter to the magnet melts in the heat. Apart from that, it was a well designed set which was compact and everything fitted into the board when not being used.
This version is much bigger. The board opens on one side (not on both as per other reviewers - maybe they have changed the design) to hold the racks and any unplayed tiles while played tiles can simply remain on the board.
My main gripe is that shuffling the tiles on the rack is not easy as they are quite a tight fit. I m anticipating losing a few tiles before long.
Great fun!, 04 Sep 2007
Travel scrabble is ideal for those long haul flights where you just wish you had a game. The all-time classic now comes in a version you can use in the air or on the ground, and the tyles will never fall off! The handy pop-in mechanism really works and it won`t wet you down in any sort of turbulance. I all ways found it annoying that when you are short of time and in the middle of a game of scrabble you have to just abandon it and throw the bits back in the box - but not any more! With these pop-in bits you can literally preserve a game you would have otherwise have had to cut short. Supprisingly, this version is more durable than the orrigonal and is deffinitley a great buy!
Not very well made...., 12 Feb 2007
For anyone who enjoys playing Scrabble, and like us, only gets the chance when on holiday then the travel edition is perfect for you. However, I agree with an earlier reviewer regarding the quality of the actual board itself. It is not as good as the original which had the holes for putting the letters in. This version is quite bulky, the hinges break easily and we have found we've had to buy a new one every couple of years.... maybe it's a good marketing ploy!
Also on the last one we bought the ink ran on the tiles, not only did it rub off when you handled them, but when the board is closed and they touch the tiles on the opposite side they can transfer the ink on each other.... hence we played one game wondering who had the blank only to find it had been played as a 'U'!!
I do think Mattel need to improve the travel version, but for now as we are addicted to the game itself we will have to keep hoping.
Scrabble, 10 Feb 2007
This is a classic game and with good reason and this is perfect to take when on the move. It's simple to play, but with infinite levels of game play for all ages and ability. Not only is it fun, but it stretches your vocabulary and mind as well. You'll have many a happy hour if you buy this. Highly recommended.
Nearly perfect essential for the Scrabble fanatic, 14 Nov 2006
You can play up to 3 other people on the official Scrabble board, with all the tiles, word score boxes and more, but this is ideal for use in a car (maybe not while you're driving!), bus, train, plane, etc.
The letter tiles clip securely onto the board, scores are kept on the side using smart number sliders, and even the player's tile racks fold over to hold each person's tiles in place between turns. If the game has to be interrupted, the racks fit under the board and the board folds over on itself to store the game in progress until everyone is ready to go again. I say 'nearly' in the title only because there doesn't seem to be enough room to store all the tiles, bag and rules in the folding box that makes up the board. Other than that, this is a great way to get your Scrabble fix, and for the price it can't be beat. Get this for travel and the deluxe wooden set for home play.

Educational - without the kids realising!, 24 Oct 2008
Amazing - an educational game that my children don't mind playing! My 6 and 9 year old love this. You have 10 seconds in which to memorise as much information as possible about a country - flags, towns, exports etc. Then you roll a dice and have to answer a numbered question about the country. That's all there is to it. If you answer correctly, you keep the card for that country. The person with the most number of cards at the end of the game wins. If I sat down and quizzed my children on their knowledge of flags, towns, countries, they'd find it really dull. For some reason the egg-timer and dice turn this into a fun game for them. What a find!

Fun and addictive, 03 Oct 2008
Very Good, 04 Apr 2007
A game you'll keep coming back to, 26 Nov 2008
A great game with lots of aspects - luck, deviousness, bluffing, tactical game play, playing the odds, barefaced lying - you name it! Best played with at least 4, we are starting to introduce our 6 & 8 year olds to a simplified version of the game. We always take this on holiday - you can take it out of the tin & carry it in the drawstring bag to make it lighter. Highly recommended!
excellent, 01 Dec 2007
we play this over and over again and it never gets boring, ultimate game of bluffing.
Fun and Games, 25 Apr 2007
Great fun to play in a large group of people and requires some thought too! The boxset is nice so you each get your own colour of dice and cup so it is worth buying. This game could keep me occupied for hours!
Not just Liar Dice, 21 Dec 2006
A far more involved and complex game than Liar dice but based on similar principles this is a fantastic travel game that can be played anywhere and is pretty easy to pick up.
All you need are dice!, 29 Nov 2006
Liar dice is a fun game. However all you need are some dice! If you really need a tin to keep your dice in and you've money to burn then go ahead and get this game :) Or just find the rules with the power of the interweb and use dice you already own.
