Product Description
The kite is dead. Long live the Solar Airship, heir apparent to the kite's 30 centuries of dominance of the skies. The Solar Airship might look like an eight metre bin liner, but it's wise not to be fooled. To unleash its might, just fill it with common-or-garden air, and it will amply demonstrate the power of solar energy. This Airship is different from anything invented by the Montgolfier Brothers or Count von Zeppelin... and simply uses nature's most abundant gases and the power of the sun to inflate its sausage-like shape - no pumps or puff are required. All you need is a reasonably calm and sunny day. When exposed to the sun's radiation, the gases in the airship become excited, increasing in temperature and pressure... and lifting the mighty tube majestically into the air. Now here's the really clever bit. A little like a worm cut in two by an inquisitive schoolboy, you can separate the eight metre length of the airship's black high-density film into two 4 metre sections... and get two mini flying machines for the price of one. Then it's up, up and away... though, to avoid interference with low-flying aircraft we heartily recommend that you keep this amazing contraption securely tethered.

Virtually Indestructible, 02 Nov 2008
Only "virtually". Having seen it nose dive into concrete from 15m (at least), been trodden on, sat on and "fetched" by the dog it finally did succumb when I drove over it with the car - even then with duct tape and some glue I had it working again (only snapped a fibreglass rod). Looks fragile, elegant in the air, virtually indestructible - don't buy those pathetic "air hogs" things (haven't had one of those for more than 2mins before breaking) This is flying as it should be! So good I have now bought two more as any time my kids take it to the park a queue forms!

WOW what a kite, 29 Nov 2004
i got this kite last week and hav been waiting for a windy day to fly it. then yesterday it iwas perfect and i shot up into the sky and flew like a dream. this is my first kite and so i have on experiance in flying but after reading the flite manual for 5 minuits i kenw how to fly it. the amazing thin about it is that it is so light at 220g and the wing span is bigger than me at 5fr 7in from tip to tip. it comes compleat with all the lines and everything you will need to start flying. the only other ingreadeant is a nice windy day. this is well worth the money. howers of fun ahead with this 10/10

Bob the Builder flies, 13 Mar 2008
I needed a kite that was suitable for a six year old to fly in a light breeze - well it did all this. The Bob the Builder link and the fact it was a kite increased the excitement which was not let down by its performance - once we (the adults) had it flying the right side down (doh) it flew easily and without drama - ie no constant crashing. This is a basic no frills kite for youngsters that has little to break and comprises just the kite and the string. It doesn't take up much space (fits in your pocket) and is reasonably robust - a thickish polythene plastic sheet. Highly recommended for the price.
Limited - but fun!, 25 Nov 2007
We had the teletubbies version of this kite for years. It's great to keep in the car or stuff in a coat pocket to liven up walks on the beach or hills for young children (or young at heart adults!) Don't expect stunts or anything wildly exciting. It just flies at the end of a string. But it does work and doesn't have any complicated parts. Worthwhile stocking-filler.

Oh so easy - goes up and stays up!, 23 Apr 2008
A very easy-to-fly kite. We have had loads of different kites and have failed dismally to get the majority of them airboure! This one is different - so easy even my 5 year old can launch it and keep it in the air. Highly recommended.

Product Description
Kites have had a significant, although little appreciated, impact on history including their use by Benjamin Franklin in 1752 during a storm to prove that lightning was a form of electricity (definitely not recommended!). Also, most school children don't realise that kites helped Wilbur and Orville Wright to perfect their understanding of flying, leading them to invent the airplane and ultimately to their famous powered flight in 1903. The Magic Dragon kite is a smaller, user friendly version of the monster size kites that made their appearance in China over 2,500 years ago. In fact with a wingspan of about 4 feet, the colourful Magic Dragon kite can be flown by all members of the family that are over the age of 8 years, and with parental supervision if under this age. The Magic Dragon Kite comes complete with a colourful nylon body, wings and a long tail, fibreglass frame rods and flight instructions manual. How to fly the Magic Dragon Kite Dragons will fly in most winds, but are at their best in medium, steady winds. They don't like air turbulence - so keep away from trees and buildings. With your back to the wind hold the kite high. When the kite starts to fly release the kite and slowly give it flying line. Keep giving the kite line as it climbs into the sky. The dragon tail can be deceptively long, so pace out your flying area to make sure you have enough room. Magic Dragon Kite features ? Ram Air 3-dimensional kite ? Made from quality nylon ? Fiberglass frame ? Flight handle and line ? Wind range of 5 to 20 mph ? Complete with flight instructions manual ? Pre-assembled and easy to fly ? Suitable for 8 years of age and up ? Size: Magic Dragon wingspan 4.0 feet (48.0 inches), body 4.5 feet (54.0 inches) Click here to see a larger image of the Magic Dragon Kite
