Well it's a pen. D'oh!, 09 Aug 2008
Didn't think it would be a pen. And not a very good one at that, the pen ran out within 5 hours! Still it keeps my brother entertained and I didn't think he minded much about the pen it's just not value for money...
At least a pen would have been useful, 24 Apr 2008
Have you ever opened a gift to find it is totally not the sort of gift you liked to receive. You wonder who bought it you and why ? Then you get that feeling of embarrassment. Well, this is how I felt when I saw this item. Firstly, it looks so much like a pen, it really needed to have one built into it, to make it worth its while. The LED flashlight is pretty hopeless, the item looks cheap and plasticy because it is just that !
Most of the Dr. Who tie in stuff I've seen has been pretty well finished, epsecially the Daleks. This item is far from that and if you were considering buying one for a kid, I'd forget it and opt for one of the other sonic screwdrivers on the market.
A cheap bit of plastic with a rubbish torch!, 15 Feb 2008
Bought the Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver LED Torch as a prezzie for my little brother. What a dissapointment, brocken within a few hours. (The black bit on the end came off!) As for the torch!! Yes i know its for kids but what a sorry excuse for a torch. Sorry but this is just another money hungry company selling cheap tat at stupid prices just because of the Doctor Who name. Even at the reduced price its now at....NOT WORTH IT!
It's not a screwdriver!, 14 Jan 2008
Quite simply it's a torch. I too thought it was a screwdriver and my 5 year old grandson would be happy with that, but we will see. I haven't given it to him yet.
I wish Amazon would put more info on their products.
At least reading the reviews helped on this one.

Product Description
Constructed from aircraft grade aluminium, the Police Tech Focus casing is built to last and withstand the rough 'n' tough that other torches simply can't handle - yet it remains remarkably light, weighing just 144grms so you'll hardly notice it in your pocket or on your belt. A patented prism reflector system and a high intensity 1.25 watt LED bulb give the torch a supremely bright beam which can be adjusted to either spot focus or flood focus by twisting the head of the torch. The positioning of the on/off switch on the rear tail cap enable it to be pulled from the pouch and switched on in one motion, and also makes this torch ideal for signalling with. It is supplied with a lanyard and durable nylon pouch with belt buckle for storage when the user is active.

Does what it says on the box, 10 Jul 2008
I was so disappointed with a 2 cell Maglite that I purchased years back that I was not inclined to spend much on another torch but night-blindness getting worse so I relented. This torch is quite brilliant in every way and you have to take great care not to shine it in your, or anyone else's eyes. First class product and value for money. Great idea for a gift - according to my son!
Very Pleased, 16 Mar 2008
I bought this based on the previous reviews and i have to say i am very pleased. I chose the Cobalt colour which has a great finish.
The torch itself is very bright and when i have to go outside at night the beam is so bright it looks like daytime. A little pricey but given that the lifetime of the torch it was good value for money.
Test it pack??
The only thing that initially confused me was the mandatory gift box or a test it pack.Although i chose the normal gift box i later learned that the test it pack is for shop displays so you can press a button on the packaging and see the light beam. Why they would be sold on here for nearly £10 more is a mystery, as i am sure most people buying it will be using it as a torch and not as a shop display.
Great Torch, 04 Mar 2008
I need and use for work a good quality, well made, reliable torch thats not to big gives great performance by way of light and battery life and can fit onto my belt with the aid of a belt case (supplied). Well this torch goes beond all of my hopes and dreams, its great, best torch I have ever bought.
simply the best!, 29 Jan 2008
I too have a Labrador that has selective deafness when let out at night!
This compact torch seems expensive initially, but the quality of build, compactness, ease of use and best of all the light produced make it a "must have" for night time use.Perfect size for the coat pocket, handbag, glove compartment in the car! I can't praise it enough.
The only torch you ever need?, 16 Oct 2007
Or thats the quote on many a website. I bought this torch as an aid for my outdoor persuits including finding my chocolate brown lab in the darker months.
I was replacing a 4D cell maglite that i used to own and was looking for a long life LED version when i stumbled upon this.
The battery life is supposed to be 50 hours plus and the range of the beam 60m. It has a flood - focus adjustment (operated in the same way as the maglite). The focus is incredibly bright and intense, but the flood is still quite focussed; I dont get the same coverage I did from the maglite but the light is much whiter and range is equally as good.
I was more impressed by build quality. All screw fittings feel well engineered and secure. Rubber seals are neat and well sized but my biggest shock came when I opened the torch up to inspect the battery compartment. Instead of the usual method of inserting the battery, this torch has a canister type arrangement that is completely removed, put batteries in the insert, replace the insert, but the most surprising thing is the attention to quality; all contacts and current pathways are gold plated for the best possible connection.
All this coupled with the small size, weatherproof construction, incredible light weight, pouch with belt loop and clip and well presented packaging makes this the only torch I will ever need.

Great fun!, 02 Jan 2008
this is a great fun game!
It is great for all ages young and old
and can be played in a small or large area
great excercise as you have to dart around
can be played 1-4 players!
I cant say anything bad about it!
I would recommended it from age 4 years up
you just need to know your numbers and colours!
this hasnt been given the attention it deserves
fabulous game, 01 Jan 2008
Bought this game for my nine year old for xmas no idea what it was like but drawn in by the fact it can be played solo or up to 8 players.
Tried it out fabulous! It was such good fun dashing about trying to match the colours/numbers that it calls out. We played all the different modes and they all worked well. We particularly enjoyed the team dash where you have to pass the plunger piece like a relay. The game says for 6 and up however the level one and two were played easily with our teams which included a 4 and 5 yr old.Great activity looking foward to using it with our friends at the next gathering. Would easily transfer from small table to large garden. Superb!

Product Description
This is the ultimate Doctor Who collectable, a replica of the Doctor?s Fob Watch. A fully working watch with a chain, the fob has detailed engraving on the case and Roman numerals on the face. Also features speech, light and sound effects. When the Doctor had to turn himself human to avoid the Family of Blood, he placed his Time Lord consciousness and true physiology inside a small ornate fob watch. He kept it nearby at all times while he lived the life of schoolteacher John Smith. Although he had no memory of ever being the Doctor and thought of himself as truly human, when the watch was opened, all the real Doctor flooded back into him, turning him once more into the Time Lord he actually was. The Doctor's oldest and bitterest enemy, the Master, another Time Lord also had a fob watch. After escaping the devastation of the Great Time War, he too created a human persona for himself, the kindly Professor Yana. When he opened his fob watch, the Master was back, ready to take on the Doctor and threaten the very existence of the Universe.

I wouldn't keep MY memories in it, it would break!, 03 Mar 2008
From about five feet away the watch looks quite good, the detailing on the front is well moulded and it generally looks quite real and solid, indeed from five feet the watch looks as it does in the photograph above; don't be fooled this is the best it will ever look.
When you get close enough to actually touch it and pick it up, the cheap slightly shiny grey plastic creaks in your hand, belying the flimsy construction.
The front of the watch is opened with a difficult to reach, loose fitting plastic stud on the top of the adjustment dial, which itself is moulded into the main body and does nothing, revealing the face of the watch, which conspires to be shadowy and difficult to read. The door itself is thin and the hinge worryingly flimsy to the extent that it feels as if the force of the spring could break it off on opening.
By far the worst thing about this watch however it the "light and sound effects", which feature a few red and yellow flashing LEDs, and a minute or so long clip from the second episode of 'Human Nature' with the young lad saying something along the lines of "..Some times I remember having two hearts and being a Time Lord, not only that but the last of the Time Lords..." and so on. Not only is this a fantastically annoying sound for the watch to make, but it is the sort of thing which seriously hampers the creation of a childhood fantasy world when your toys start whittering on at you; I know this I remember it happening.
In short AVOID! Wait for someone to bring a better, metal version out.
so, I might be a bit older than the target audience..., 16 Feb 2008
I bought a Time Lord watch :)
... Still not a Time Lord. Even when I put the batteries in. :(
... okay, so, yes, a toy. For ages 5 and up. I'm, er, up.
It is plastic. Except for the chain. The chain makes the plastic look cheap. But does function to keep the watch where it is put, so that part works out. The case has patterns just like on the show, and seems fairly accurate. Same with the watch face. So that's nice. But the light effect is pathetic - I've got a better light on my keychain, and it doesn't light the center of the watch at all. And the sound effect happens whenever you make the light, so it isn't much use if you, for instance, want to know the time in the cinema. Plus it sounds like the Doctor only if the Doctor is talking through a comb after inhaling helium. Actually come to think his voice doesn't change when inhaling helium, so it's just out of character. Er, I mean, it sounds mostly like hsssh shhh crsshh and you can only tell what he's saying because we have it memorised from TV. Bit disappointing really.
On the plus side - Time Lord watch! Wheeee!
It, er, gets all its stars from that bit.
THE DOCTORS MAGIC WATCH !., 08 Feb 2008
This Fob watch seen during the classic series with all the previous seven incarnations of the Doctor. Makes it's return with the tenth Doctor in series three as a device where the Doctor and other Time lords can hide there soul. It basically transfers there DNA and brain patterns into the watches memory matrix like an SD card !. This toy is dissapointing as it's made from cheap plastic and has some lights and sounds. I had hoped it might be a diecast which would give it some quality and wieght. But for the young children trying to emmulate the Dr this is still great fun.

Superb!
Exterminate sleep!, 21 Oct 2006
Just bought this as a present for my 10yr old nephew and have to say i'm tempted to keep it for myself. This is a well made, quality item and in my opinion excellent value for money. Above review is pretty accurate however mine came with full and easy to follow instruction book which covered alarm setting and everything else. Dalek itself is about 8" (20cm) tall and solidly constructed. Will need 4 AA type batteries which aren't included so you may want to stock up.
Alarm clock like no other, 23 Sep 2006
What an alarm clock. When mine Arrived I couldn't wait to set it up. The alarm clock is in fact 3D and looks like a figure. Its very detailed and makes a great piece on a table or anywhere in fact. It has three pharses which are very popular to series one and two and it lights up. With this in mind the speech and the lights make it loud to wake you up and see in the room plus it has a wow factor when its in alarm mode. There is no instructions on how to set the clock or alarm but if you have had a character or novelty alarm clock before (Like I have) you would pick in up no problem. Other than that flaw, it's fab. Any doctor Who or Dalek fan would love this.
Highly recommend*

How Cool Is This??!!!, 03 Nov 2005
I love this kit, it fits perfectly under my passenger seat although its so cute I want to show it off! All the products are really nifty and good quality and the freshener smells lush!
Poor quality tat, 04 Aug 2008
I bought this for my son and after taking the 1st one back for breaking in about half an hour we had a second one. The second one took a few weeks to break. The quality is terrible. The alien cards are hard to put in and although my son loved it because it was ben 10 it was just a big let down.
